The Urban Beauty Collective is a network of more than 10,000 urban beauty salons and barbershops nationwide. In addition to providing opportunities for literature distribution through UBC network salons, the partnership offers potential opportunities for receptions spotlighting epilepsy education and featuring presentations by local Epilepsy Foundation spokespersons. The 2004 partnership with the UBC is their first alliance with a health-focused organization.
- Faith-Based Organizations
Local churches and physicians will partner with the Epilepsy Foundation to conduct epilepsy presentations to church congregations at the close of worship services. We have engaged the support of the National Medical Association, the professional society for African American physicians, for its members to work closely with affiliate PAB members and serve as medical representatives during the presentations.
