I'm 18 and I've had epilepsy since I was 13 or so. Nobody cares that I have epilepsy. Well, somebody might, but I don't worry about them. I just go out and be myself and have fun and so should you. Peace.

People sometimes don't understand epilepsy. It's up to people with epilepsy to make others understand that we are human, too.

I am 23 and have had epilepsy for around 10 years or so. During this time, I have learned that more people care than you might think. Though I am comfortable talking about my disease, I know others aren't. I can tell you though that talking about it does help not just you but the others around you as well. We are not alone and people do care.

I have been diagnosed with epilepsy for about two weeks now, and I am trying to take it as best as I can. Some people keep on asking me if I am ok, and some just tell me that they feel sorry for me. People look at me different now and I am trying to get used to that. One good thing though is that my medication is working.. and I haven't had any seizures in the past couple of weeks. At least there is that.

When I told somebody I had epilepsy, my friends didn't stay around me much after that. It seemed as if I was in a room with no lights and nobody was with me.

I'm 18 and have had epilepsy for almost two years now. I deal with it in my own ways, but almost every medicine they have put me on I have rejected, broken out in an allergic reaction to, or grown immune to. It sucks, but I deal with it and so do all of you. People may choose to be ignorant, but that doesn't mean we have to be.

I've had epilepsy for 4 years and I can't stand it. Everyone treats me like a baby. I wish it would just go away.

Everybody's saying it's so hard, and people are so mean and horrible. And yeah it's hard, sure. All the medicine sucks, and yeah some people don't understand and are mean about it, but I've found that the people you want to care usually end up caring..it's just a matter of you taking the time to explain everything to them, and if you want them to care and explain it to them, pretty much force them to understand how crappy it is.. they'll care, or understand at least...

I'm 17 and have had epilepsy for 10 yrs. It surprises people when they find out I have it. What bothers me the most is when kids at my school joke about someone looking like their having a seizure or saying they have ep. I don't know anyone else with ep but one day I wanna meet someone. I heard about this place on the radio, and it's really cool hearing what teens like me have to say. WE DEAL!!! PEACE OUT!!

I am a senior in high school. Just last August, the summer before my senior year I got diagnosed with Epilepsy. Okay, back to me being a senior... Every senior at my school has to write a research paper and has to pass it, in order to graduate. I did mine on High School students and Epilepsy. I am very glad to say that I not only shocked my teacher, but the students as well. We had to read them aloud in class, and I was kind of hesitant at first. Then I thought about how much people are going to learn about us now. I stood up in front of my whole class and proudly spoke the words of a high school epileptic! I am very proud to say that I got one of the highest grades on that paper. My teacher even gave a copy to the principal and she loved it! Don't ever let anyone that you're not different than the other kids, because we are, but we are far more UNIQUE than all of them combined!!
