Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are very important to the daily function of the Foundation. Volunteering can be a rich, rewarding experience.  Epilepsy Foundation Northwest hosts numerous opportunities for volunteers to plug-in on a short term or long term basis - whatever fits your schedule!

Our volunteers are expected to follow all policies and expectations set forth by the Foundation Board of Directors. In accordance with policy the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest will conduct background checks on all volunteers working with children. All volunteers will be provided with the necessary training to do their jobs.

  • Camp Counselor *Camp Discovery* 2008

    Assist children with epilepsy and other disabilities with a variety of camp activities, including sports, crafts, hiking, boating, etc. Work with other camp counselors to provide a fun, safe environment where campers can take risks, have new adventures and make new friends. Desire to care for, play with, and engage children ages 7-17 who have epilepsy.

Time commitment: 5 days/4 nights.

Seizure First Aid training provided.

Food and lodging provided in beautiful NW camp setting.

Must provide own transportation to camp.

  • Helping Other People With Epilepsy (H.O.P.E.) Mentoring Program

    Epilepsy Foundation Northwest receives hundreds of calls a year for a representative to talk to a service club, school or company. We would like to recruit key volunteers with public speaking and/or teaching experience who have personal experience with epilepsy. Requires attendance at training session(s) focused on presentation and knowledge of Epilepsy Foundation goals and programs. Speakers scheduled according to need/demand.

  • Event Volunteer - Northwest Run/Walk for Epilepsy 2008

    Help at the annual Northwest Run/Walk for Epilepsy in Seattle, Portland and Spokane. Assist with area set-up, event registration, and take down. Must be able to take directions well and act quickly. This is a non-paid position. Must provide own transportation. For more information, contact mail@epilepsynw.org
